Let us Seek Him together this week~ Join me for Monday Ministries
Just another manic Monday. You either love them or hate them. I think we should choose to redeem Mondays together. I would love to see Monday as a day of new starts every week. A day to seek God’s agenda for the coming week, and to pray and ask Him for opportunities to make Him known in the world around us. Will you do this with me? Today, and each Monday for the remainder of 2014, will you petition God with me? Will you ask Him to lead us to the people and places where He wants to use us? Will you seek Him in the morning and watch for Him during the day? And then, will you come back here and share with us?
When I was in high school, I believe our youth pastor coined the term “God sightings.” It was a phrase that suggested that we might see God at work in the world around us if we are aware and looking for Him. And yes, I do think it’s true. We should be praying that God would open our eyes to see what He is up to right around us!
I love this concept which is also presented in Henry Blackaby’s Experiencing God study. Blackaby emphatically states that we need to find out where God is working around us and JOIN HIM! How great is that?
Have you ever wondered what God created you to do? Have you asked Him to show you how He wants to use you to build up the body of Christ, or to reach people along your daily path that might not be reached without you? God has gifted each one of us in the body of Christ to bless others. What is He calling and equipping you to do? Are you listening and obeying? We will hear from God when we seek Him deliberately and wait for Him patiently.
1 Chronicles 28:9-10
“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a temple as a sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.”
Are we seeking to serve God with wholehearted devotion and a willing mind? Are we pouring our hearts out to the Lord and allowing Him to see us and know us? Do we want to find Him? We must seek Him.
What work Has God chosen you to do? What does He want you to do today? This week? Let’s watch for Him, and listen to Him, and see and share what we see Him doing around us this week.
